The Edge 605 is a significant step up in GPS cycle computer functionality from the 205/305. It comes loaded with everything you need to get cycle computer data and mapping detail of all sorts. Its also possible to store, analyse and share your information with other people, anywhere in the world using Garmin's online training website and community.

Edge 605 comes with a built-in basemap, and a memory card slot for adding map detail and storing workouts, courses and saved rides. You can just plug in detailed MapSource City Navigator maps on a preloaded data card. The 605 will give you accurate directions as you cycle using its colour display, which is also readable in sunlight.

There is also the option of topographic mapping to help any off-road trails and rides, mostly removing the need for ordnance survey maps (although its worth having one with you somewhere in case you get a bit lost !

The Edge 605 is able to measures speed, distance, time, calories burned and altitude. If you need more detailed data, the next step up is the Edge 705

The high-sensitivity receiver that holds a signal under trees and near tall buildings and have a click stick for easy screen navigation. Like the rest of the Edge family, Edge 605 comes with lots of great features to keep you on top of your ride:

* Virtual Partner lets you race a virtual competitor over a specified distance and speed.
* Courses let you race against a previously recorded workout, so you can compare your current and past performances over the same ride.
* Auto Pause pauses the timer when you slow down or stop and resumes when you speed up again, so you can focus on your ride.
* Auto Lap automatically starts a new lap each time you pass a specified location or travel a preset distance.

With a simple connection to your computer, you can join a worldwide network of cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts through Garmin Connect our new, one-stop site for data analysis and sharing. Also upload to optional Garmin Training Center software for further analysis.
